A good copywriter will certainly write you some great content. However, there are several reasons that copy coaching is different:
- Your passion for your business will come through authentically, using your own words.
- Going through the copy coaching process will empower you to write more of your own content independently, as I will show you tips and techniques that you can use in the future.
- A copywriter will need to know exactly what you want to say to whom, and how. If you’re not sure what you want already, I can coach you through the process.
- Often, amazing business ideas are born in copy coaching sessions.
- It’s fun!
First, I get you to put your pen and paper or laptop down, as it is vitally important that you think outside of ‘what shall I write?’ Then we get chatting about you and your business: what you love about your work; your favourite sort of client; what you offer, and anything else that gets you fired up about what you do. I take copious notes during our conversation and then, together, we get busy crafting what you have said into some great content tailored to your needs.
You can also use a copy coaching session to work on your blog, newsletter or social media profile, brainstorming ideas, strategies and writing styles.
Oh, and we’ll probably drink quite a lot of tea during the process. Contact me.
Any ideas you might have already had and an open mind. You do not need to have clear plans about exactly what you need to write (although it’s great if you do!), as these will develop during our session. You are welcome to bring a laptop, although you do not need one as I will email our work to you. Contact me.
After three hours, you will come out fully caffeinated, having written the first draft of your copy (one session is usually enough for a small website, a brochure or a blogging strategy). I will send you all the notes via email and we will work together on polishing it after the session. You will also have a lot of material that you can ‘recycle’ into mission statements, 60 second networking pitches, social media posts or similar. And a huge thing ticked off your to-do list! Contact me.
At your home or a quiet cafe or hotel within half an hour’s drive from Worthing. Further than this is possible but will incur a travel charge. Contact me.
Absolutely! Whether it’s ideas you want, a helping hand to get you started or someone to look over your writing before you post it, I can help. You can attend my blogging or newsletter workshops or I can work 1:1 with you, whichever suits you best. And my copy checking service will give you peace of mind when you send your thoughts out into cyberspace. Contact me.
I offer a complimentary initial consultation during which we can discuss your needs and expectations of coaching and I can answer any questions you may have about the process. This will give us the opportunity to get to know each other a little and for you to decide whether you want to go ahead with coaching. If you do decide to take me on as your coach, we will design a coaching package for you during this session. Contact me.
Most of my one-to-one coaching takes place over the phone in sessions of between 30 minutes and an hour. Being on the phone has the advantage of geography (I coach clients from as far away as the US), convenience (no need to travel – just find a quiet space where you will not be disturbed) and comfort (you can be relaxed in the comfort of your own home – in your pyjamas if you want!)
If you would prefer to have face-to-face sessions, this can be arranged. Face-to-face sessions normally take place in your home or office (within a reasonable distance from Worthing) or in a quiet cafe. Walking and talking also works well, and the seafront affords a convenient and attractive backdrop to a coaching session (weather permitting!). Please note that face-to-face sessions incur an extra cost due to travelling time.
Coaching and counselling are similar in the sense that both counsellor and coach ask the client questions, sometimes requiring a lot of soul-searching. Neither counsellor nor coach will give advice but they listen to what the client says and direct the conversation with further pertinent questions. However, whereas the typical counselling session will be dealing with issues in the past affecting the present, the coaching relationship is focused on the future and deals with optimising opportunity by acting proactively. Contact me.
This depends on what you want to achieve with your coaching. During the consultation session, we will design a coaching package together that will suit your needs and your budget. Frequency of sessions ranges from one to three sessions per month, with unlimited email support in between. Contact me.
As with the previous question, this depends on what you want to achieve through coaching. Some goals can be met after six sessions, while others take a lot longer. For example, relocation tends to be a longer-term project which requires less frequent support over a longer period, whereas a goal such as decluttering generally needs more intensive coaching over a fairly short time span. I usually ask clients to commit to an initial three months, which can then be extended for as long as you like. Whatever your situation, together we can design a coaching programme to suit you. Contact me.
If you like the idea of coaching and want to do it in a group, I can facilitate programmes for up to 12 people, be they friends, colleagues, family or other group. Group coaching delivery will vary according to your requirements, from a day-long workshop to a series of conference calls. Programme topics include Better Communication, Improving your Work-Life Balance, Making Time for Me! and Is Relocation for Me?
If you have a different topic on which you would like me to run a coaching programme, or you would like to discuss the needs of your group, please get in touch and we can design something perfectly suited for you.
The first consultation session is free. Subsequently, I charge £60 per session or £300 for a block of 6 sessions.
Payment is due in advance by cheque, bank transfer or via PayPal. If you are truly committed to making changes in your life with life coaching and money is the only thing holding you back, please contact me and we can discuss the possibility of negotiating an alternative fee. Contact me.
